Brief History of Golden West Electric

Golden West Electric was opened in 1964 by Bob Covey Sr. and Dale Patton. The company was started as a residential service division of Solano Electric. After a few years it was sold to Jim Pierson. With Jim at the helm, the company expanded into commercial electrical construction, government, institutional, and school projects. When the Solano Mall was being built, Golden West had as many as 22 electricians employed. Jim never lost sight of his roots and always kept the little lighting store at 411 Main St. open. It was through this store Jim was able to help the local folks with their electrical and lighting needs. Jim always felt the local people would support Golden West if Golden West supported them.

As time went by, the big orange store moved to town. The need for the little lighting store subsided. However, the residential service and contracting side of Golden West continued to stay competitive. Always keeping in mind the small jobs are the ones that keep us open and pay the bills.

Sadly, on March 3rd. 2000 Jim passed away. Golden West was transferred to long time employee Dana Fennie. Dana shares Jim's vision of Golden West Electric, to serve our loyal local customers, at the same time developing local commercial accounts. It is Jim's vision of exemplary customer service that has kept Golden West in business since 1964, and it is Dana's commitment to Jim's vision that will keep it going for many years in the future.
